Chinese Herbal Medicine

Like many herbal medicine traditions, Chinese herbalism is an age old lore. Herbs are classified into flavours (sweet/sour/salty/pungent/bland), temperature (cold/cool/neutral/warm/hot) and which acupuncture channels and organs they are affiliated with. Every herb usually shares one temperature with more than one flavour and is affiliated with at least one channel. Complicated. To make matters more convoluted, Chinese herbs are prescribed in formulas where anywhere between 2 and 18 or so herbs are used to achieve a synergistic formulation. Very complicated! Very fascinating too! You guessed it: more opportunity for exciting study for me, and more opportunity for precise prescription for you.
