Who I Am and What I Do

I'm Ruth Mayroz. I've been practicing for over 15 years, in many places and settings. It all started like this:

In 1995 I was travelling the world (again...) and entered a second-hand bookshop in Seattle, Washington. I bought a small and unassuming book on acupuncture... and yes, that book changed the trajectory of my life. I have never looked back.

In 1996 I enrolled in a 4 year Acupuncture course in Tel Aviv, some time later I moved to Australia and completed a degree in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at UTS.

I"ve lived and practiced in Central Australia, Sydney, Lithgow and the Blue Mountains; I have worked in private practices, in community settings, in NGOs; treating the very young, the very old and everyone in between. I’m fortunate to wake up in the morning looking forward to a day where I love what I do.

I’m a complete Chinese medicine nerd. I read and study it most days including weekends and holidays. Much to my family’s dismay there are always notes, books and articles lying (and piling) around. It gives me joy, just like bush walking, dancing tango, cups of tea and escaping to a great novel.
